To start with UGC stands for user generated content, and basically it’s what people create to tell their own story as a character in the story and can be closely related to Fan Fiction, although Fan Fiction is more along the lines of using already created characters or events, User Generated Content creates completely separate events and characters whilst still based in the reality of the story.

So what does that mean in relation to me?

My Auntie knows some people (isn’t that just always how it is?) so this producer happened to be working with the nine network on the telemovie ‘Scorched’, i shit you not i was packing envelopes and i got talking to the online producer mike, and we had a chat about fires and i said i knew about that kinda thing cause i used to live in Engadine, we dreaded summer and just waited for the next big fire...

So he says how would you like to do some stuff? you may get paid (dont really care about money i just love to entertain) and you’ll definitely get a credit (where do i pick it up?) and thats the genesis of Conrad Chalmers...

I just found out that scorched won the Digital Emmy for fiction seriously, don’t believe me? then click here, come on i dare you.

And if that weren’t enough i find out thru a friend that some of the footage i submitted was part of the package they submitted, they’ve been showing it around, seriously, at the digital emmys and at cannes, just to think that even a snippet of something i made, ended up at cannes... i can’t believe it, that blows my mind, i don’t know if i have credits or not, i don’t know where i can pick it up, so i’m taking my own dammit!
